2024 - TAKE FLIGHT

The 2024 Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival was a vibrant celebration that brought together the Newton community and surrounding areas for an unforgettable summer experience along the scenic banks of Sand Creek. This year's theme, "TAKE FLIGHT," centered on aviation and featured a fantastic array of activities and events for all ages.

Attendees enjoyed thrilling live concerts and individual music performances that filled the air with excitement. For the competitive spirits, the sand volleyball tournament and The Great Brain Freeze ice cream eating contest offered plenty of fun and friendly rivalry. As festival-goers strolled the grounds, they were captivated by talented artists creating stunning murals that celebrated the beauty of Sand Creek and Harvey County.

Culinary delights abounded, with a wide selection of delicious food and beverages to sample. Performances by magicians, hypnotists, and other entertainers added to the festive atmosphere, while kids delighted in free ice cream and rides on the beloved Sand Creek Sentinel, the festival’s charming barrel train.

Families explored the YMCA Time Out 4 Kids adventure area, packed with interactive and educational activities that kept children engaged and entertained. And, of course, the festival wouldn’t have been complete without a visit from Sand Creek Charlie, the festival's beloved ambassador, who holds a special place in Newton's history. The 2024 festival was truly a memorable experience for everyone involved!
