The Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival is in its eighth year and, like the creek its's named after, keeps moving along with new surprises and endearing yearly events. We are even bringing a past favorite event out of its Sand Creek, "watery grave"! We have several days again packed with activities, entertainment, concerts, performances, food and beverage.
As always, the festival will be a dynamic few days for the Newton area & surrounding communities. Starting with an ever poplular medallion hunt, then flowing from summer baseball to fireworks. What is more 'MERICA' than that? Join us for many other fun and exciting events for young and old.
Greg Hanson ~ Festival Chairman
Grab friends or family, interpret daily clues and have a blast searching for this hand-crafted medallion! Sand Creek Charlie's Mythical Medallion is hidden on public property somewhere in the Newton area.
Clues will be released on the Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival Facebook site at 9:00 a.m. every morning. Check out the Mythical Medallion page for prize details and rules.

Form a team and put some sand between your toes by entering the SCSD Sand Volleyball Tourney. Bring the family or have the entire family as a team. The entire tourney will be held on the courts of Athletic Park.
Watch live, creative shows by local singers, dancers, athletes and others on stage. Participate in an ice-cream eating contest or have fun in a variety of jump houses and obstacle courses. Ride a barrel train or climb a rock wall, meet a super hero and a couple princesses. There will be plenty to do for all ages.
Watch a live mural artist create a 4'x8' painting before your eyes, then participate in a live art project by the Newton Mural & Arts Project. Stroll through a tent and admire six years of Summer Daze mural creations by very talented artists.
It's baaaaccckkkkkk!
One of the festival's most popular competitions from year's past, the Sand Creek Cardboard Regatta is hilariously fun and entertaining; to watch or even participate in! Past faux champions Craig and Anthony Smarcia will be running the event this year offering even more fun.
How many marbles can you grab with your toes in a pool of freezing ice water, in front of the entire crowd? We can't wait to find out.
$200 in cash will be given out to the winner(s)!
Following the Battle of the Badgez, Summer Daze welcomes an evening with great country music, performed by the talented duo of Jacob Reavis & Samantha Melillo (from the Annie Up Band). These experienced musicians have been to Nashville to hone their craft and will show case their talents Friday night after the kick ball game.
You will have a great seat after the game watching the duo perform on the infield from the Farm Bureau Financial Services: Gavin Thunberg Stage followed by the Friday Night Lightz fireworks show.
